Inspiration for Val's work comes from the diverse intensity of light that helps to create the beauty of everyday life. She paints in both oil and acrylic and is very much drawn to the truth of realism.
Val studied Illustration at Manchester Polytechnic and since graduating has worked successfully for various publishing companies, design groups and advertising agencies.

Clients include Dorling Kindersley, Oxford University Press, Penguin Books, Good Housekeeping Magazine, J Walter Thompson, Health Education Council & Athena Greetings cards.

More recently she spends her time concentrating on private commissions and exhibitions.
